Getting Back In Shape

By  |

I am back on my fitness journey!  I wanted to take a moment to share with you what I am doing to ensure my success.  I am happy to say that I know what I am doing so this time it’s different.  I recently lost 20 pounds last year, and have gained a bit of it back due to life and excuses.  Small steps does not really work for me like it does for some people.  I need to work out and eat right immediately to see rapid results.  So, it really is a mind set thing.  For me the first thing is having a strong enough why.

My Why

My why starts with my health, and how I am feeling.  I am feeling tired, and sluggish and I do not like the way I look in my clothes.  I look and feel uncomfortable. I try to look at things simple and it really is just that.  The main battle for me is eating right, so I have learned to count my calories.  I stay around 1200 calories a day and I usually lose about 3 pounds a week; sometimes more.  I use MyFitnessPal app to track my calories and workouts.  I like MyFitnessPal app because I am able to go back to see what I have done before that worked or did not work.

My Workouts

I have a full size gym at home, it’s in my basement.  I am going to start incorporating heavy lifting into my routine.  I want to focus on my problem areas like my back and my waist.  I try to do workouts that I enjoy like cycling; I really love cycling!  I cycle for about 30 minutes, and do circuit training in between.  I have a treadmill and a elliptical, so I usually switch it up when I get stuck at I am not seeing progress on the scale or with inches.

Trainer

I have tried using a trainer before, and I have seen great results with trainers but for me to be successful it’s not about just the workouts.  The trainers I had before were more focused on how to workout and what to do.  I know how to lift, and I know that I need to do cardio.  I just need to do the workouts; my main focus will be counting calories and eating nutritional foods.  My goal is to make everything and to avoid foods in boxes, or processed foods.

It does work!  Overtime, I will see a difference.  So where are you in your fitness journey?  What are your favorite workouts, and favorite healthy meals?  I will share more as time progresses on my journey.  Thank you for reading my blog, if you liked the content subscribe so you don’t miss a post.

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
