A Primer That Really Grips

I know I am late to the party, but I just tried Elf Cosmetics Power Grip Primer and I was impressed- well mostly!  If you haven’t been following me I have mature, combination skin.  It can be a challenge to find a primer that is long lasting, non lifting, and that can really blur those pores.

Why I love it

1. It really grips the makeup, and makes it long lasting.
2. The skin looks dewy, but mattes nicely with makeup application.
3. It is good for the skin, as it is infused with Hyaluronic Acid.

Benefits of Hyaluronic Acid

The evidence suggests that hyaluronic acid helps with soft tissue growth, prompts your body to make more collagen and elastin.  It keeps your skin moisturized, prevents tightness, boots elasticity, and reduces scarring.

After I applied setting powder to my face.  This is how lovely it mattes up, with the right setting powder.  Without the matte setting powder, this primer sets dewy.  It leaves a dewy finish.  This is the final look below.

Final Thoughts

My makeup lasted me for 8 hours in the sun.  I wore it as I took my kids school shopping, and it held up mostly except around my nose.  My nose sweated in the sun, so it started to lift on my nose.  I will wear the Power Grip Primer again, but this time I will moisturize better before applying the primer.  If you want to give this primer a try, click here.  What are your favorite primers?  What is your skin type?  What primers should I try next?
