How To Create Soft Natural Makeup Look

By  |

Hi Dolls, so excited to share this beautiful look with you.  I spent most of the morning working on this look on IG, so if you are not already following @brownsugarglam go follow so you can see this makeup look live today.  I never really know what makeup look I plan to create, I always just go with how I feel.  I normally am more drawn to soft, natural makeup looks that are not overdone.  I guess these looks are normally known as daytime looks.

Daytime looks are makeup looks that can be worn anywhere at anytime.  I notice that many celebrities stay with natural glam looks as well, which is kind of cool to wear a look so versatile.  So these looks are good for work as well as red carpet makeup looks.  Here are the steps to create this simple glam look.

Start with a great foundation, here I used Nars which has really became a favorite of mine.

After applying the foundation now is a good time to contour the face.  I normally like to contour over my foundation, although I have seen and tried it under and it is just not as effective to me.

I contoured with a few shades darker than my foundation and a few shades lighter which really chisels the face nicely.  To me contouring really enhances a makeup look, and at this point- I really cannot go without it.  It’s like an incomplete makeup look-something looks like it’s missing.

This is how the look turns out after contouring and adding a light bronzer in the same areas.

After using a good bronzer, I went in with Kristofer Buckle blush.  I really like this duo but careful, it is heavily pigmented and I didn’t want to appear clownish lol.  I can be so easy to do so to me when using blush.

The next thing to do is to set your face lol- if you read my post on yesterday you will know why I emphasis this so much.  Here are some of the products that I used to prepare my face and set my face.

Nars has a great products that I so, so love.  Remember to always begin with a great primer, then add foundation.  After applying brows, I always conceal the brows to clean them up a bit- which can really hide those stray hairs we are hiding at that moment.

After adding eyeshadow, I added my too faced better than sex mascara to really finish the look.  I have to admit it does the most for my tiny lashes lol.

Finally, here is the complete finished look.  Add your favorite lipgloss to complete this look and you will be ready!

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
