5 Ways To Style Your Natural Hair
I feel like I am finally mastering my curls. My hair journey has been a difficult one as I have done the big chop 4 times. The struggle with kinky, coily, natural hair is real. It takes alot of patience, and proper care to really take care of your hair. Since wearing my natural, I have been in the struggle like most of you guys with figuring out how to style my hair. This natural journey hasn’t been easy, but I can truly say that it is definately worth it.
My hair is healthy, my hair grows faster, and once I figured out how to style and wear my hair, my life got easier. I want the same for you, and many of you out there are wearing natural hair. I do however, want to offer you more ideas. So if these images help you, let me know as I will do more post like this.
I used to believe that I did not have alot of options for my natural, for many years I tried to wear a wash and go. The wash and go is ok, but for me it was not my best and maintaining it was a real best. Here are a few look that I wear often, when I wear my natural hair.
Top knot
This has to be the simplist style to manage for my hair, and because of that I often wear it. It is no more than four to six braids to create the style. At night, I do braid my hair again usually in 4 braids to keep the style. Often, I add a leave in before braiding to preserve the moisture.
Rod Set
For me, this is the most challenging to master because it takes the right products to create this look. To me it is also the prettiest of all styles, I definately enjoy wearing this style the most. I do not do it often, because rolling the hair with rods sometimes takes at least an hour. Then, I may do and hour or hour and half under the dryer. To preserve this style, I do a pineapple and a silk cap over it.
Bantu Knots
Pretty easy style once you get the hang of it lol, although this one can be disasterous if not done properly. This was actually my first try, my next attempt will be better. I did not do well with preserving this look at night, without having to re-do the bantu knots so for me this is not a everyday style.
Sponge Roller Set
I especially love to do a sponge roller set when I know I am not going to the gym that morning lol, otherwise this would be my go to style. These rollers are made for sleeping in, and they create the prettiest style!
This style takes sometime to roll of course, but it is worth it. Just use a really good moisturizer on the ends to secure the style.
Flat Twist Out with Bantu Knots on ends
So this is also an easy style to create, it is only flat twist with bantu knots on the ends. I love this style as well, it is great for an special occasion. To preserve, just wear your silk bonnet cap and this style is a shake an go in the morning.
Remember to pick up my favorite products to create this look, and let me know how you love them. Let me know if this has been helpful to you by liking this post, and you will see more post like this.
