Do I Recommend Clip Ins for Natural Hair

By  |

A short answer, yes I do, but I do not recommend clip ins for long term.  Do you know what I mean?  I have been playing with clip ins (extensions) for a little while now.  My best advice for those natural is it’s cool to wear clip ins, but just don’t do it long.  I wear my clip ins for about a week, no longer than that.  Why?

Overtime, usually longer than week clip in will get tangled in Kinky hair.  So, when I do decide to wear them I decide to do it for a short time.  There are also few pluses to add to wearing clip ins, other than changing your look, it allows time for the hair to rest.  Our hair loves low-manipulation styles.

So go ahead, and wear the clips ins.  I will share a few products that I use to blend my hair.  Check out my latest tutorial of how I blend my natural hair with my clip ins.

I always start with a good flax seed oil gel, to keep my hair from feeling to hard.  In this tutorial I am using Aunt Jackies Curls & Coils Flax Seed Don’t Shrink Flaxseed Elongating Curling Gel.  I love this flaxseed gel, it is so good for defining those coils and blending it in with the clip ins.  I also added extreme weline gel, it is my favorite gel because it has the best hold.  And finally, I used Nairiobi foam wrap.  This is really old school foam wrap, I used this foam faithfully when I worked behind the chair as a stylist.  It has great moisture, and if you are relaxed it will give you the best wrap that you ever had lol.  This foam is professional, however anyone can order it.

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
