You guys, today is Valentine’s Day, and I am so excited to partner with SheaMoisture this holiday!  Today is a day to start with pampering you for a very special night, whether it is a day with the girls or a date night all require special “me” time. I am always on the lookout for products that do the most for my hair, today I was going for a fluffy curly look.  So, I headed to my local Walmart to check out SheaMoisture products, because I can always count on Walmart to have what I need for my hair.

As I checked out the different products, I noticed the best one for me to pick up is for thick and curly hair. I decided to pick up a few products from SheaMoisture’s Coconut & Hibiscus line specifically formulated for Thick and Curly hair. I needed something to deeply moisturize my hair because I recently bleached my hair leaving my ends feeling dry and needing moisturizer.I love products with Coconut so the SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Collection seemed like the perfect fit for me. This line not only has Coconut but also has Shea Butter which is great moisture for both the scalp and the skin. I chose four different products suitable for what I needed for my hair.

My Hair Story

Not too long ago, I went natural.  It has actually been 3 years since my official big chop, and I want you to know that I have done this (the big chop) 4 times so far.  Although I am a Licensed Cosmetologist, it was still a challenge for me to learn how to do my hair.  I was not sure what products work on my hair.

Rich Coconut Oil and Shea Butter provide a mix of intense emollients that penetrate scalp, hair, and skin with restorative moisture. This product does tame frizz, while also defining and maintaining natural curls.

This shampoo hydrated my hair and elongated my curls.  My hair felt softened and moisturized immediately after use.  My curls looked so good!

This conditioner is everything!  I loved how light it felt in my hair, and although it felt light in my hair it still conditioned my hair so good.  Sometimes, I am guilty of believing that heavy feeling conditioners penetrate the hair better, but in this case that is not true! This conditioner worked effortlessly without having to use a steamer, or under the dryer.  My frizz was tamed and my curls looked even better. My frizz was gone after conditioning, and my curls looked so amazing.
I always like to add a gel to define curls and tame the hair out of place.  This gel does not get hard, but it actually moisturizes the hair well.  I also chose this gel because of the Flax Seed Oil, which is actually a favorite ingredient of mine.  Flax Seed Oil creates soft defined curls.

I love this cream!  It smells so good, and it defines the curls in my hair so well.  I have used this product on my wet hair, and it creates the prettiest wash and go that I have seen on my hair. It contains Neem oil and Coconut oil which explains why my hair came out so soft and defined.  With this cream, a little goes a long way.

Tutorial

Begin by shampooing the hair with SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus & Shine Shampoo.  Rinse product completely out.

Apply SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Shine Conditioner to the hair.

Apply plastic cap, and leave on for 5 minutes.

Rinse out all conditioner.  Section hair in 4 parts.

Apply SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl Enhancing Smoothie then flat twist and add a Bantu knot on the ends.

Each section is flat twisted and a Bantu knot is then added on the ends.

Take out the flat twist.

Pull top section up into a top knot ponytail.

Add ponytail hold and secure with bobby pins.

Apply Coconut & Hibiscus Curling Gel Souffle to edges to smooth edges and that completes the look.
