Juvia’s Place Palette The Zulu

By  |

Have you ever been intimidated by a makeup palette lol? I have to admit, honestly yes. If there ever was a palette where I thought, “What am I going to do with this”, it was Juvia’s Place palette The Zulu By Juvia’s. This a rather exotic palette, mixed with metallics shimmers and highlighly pigmented colors. This palette can be worn for both day and nightime looks.

My First Impressions

  • Initial thoughts, I wasn’t too sure about this palette.
  • It did not blend well. (Remember, initial thoughts lol).

So a few tips about this palette, it does blend well…but not with all concealers. So maybe I should blame the concealer that I was using to prime my lid. (Tarte Cosmetics lol). When I purchased The Zulu palette, I also purchased Juvia’s place concealer. When I used that concealer, I was so happy with how well the palette blended out.

I also must admit, that when I first used the palette I was not sure of how to cut crease. When you study Juvia’s Place brand, that is what they are all about so I decided to practice my blend game and my cut crease game. Technique really plays apart on how this look was going to come out.

So in this I learned, one cannot always blame the product sometimes one may need to practice more and try a new technique. This is the look that I created using The Zulu palette.

The shades of The Zulu palette are:

  • Tangerine
  • Orange
  • Canary yellow
  • Pecan
  • Matte jade
  • Metallic lime
  • Green aquamarine
  • Metallic Rose Gold
  • Matte Magenta
  • Matte Electric Purple

For this look, I used Canary yellow, Matte Magenta, and Electric Purple. I primed my lid with Juvia’s place concealer shade 16 blended the shades, and cut the crease with the same concealer. What I noticed about the concealers from Juvia’s place is that they dry fast and set so nicely. No creasing, which is so important when creating a cut crease. How do you feel about the cut crease? Have you tried it? Would you rock this look?

Juvia’s place palettes and other products can be purchased from your local Ulta beauty, and also on Juvia’s place website. Have you tried any of the products? Let me know you thoughts, I will see you all on the next blog post.

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
