My Spring Hair Routine

By  |

Have you ever wanted to wear your hair a certain way, but did not believe your hair could achieve that look? I was that way with wash and go looks on my hair.  I always believed that tight, coily hair looked best in a roller set, rod set, or a twist out.  I just did not see myself with defined curls.  It’s actually kind of sad.  But a few months ago, I found a product that helped me achieve this look easily.  I have been using Wet Line Xtreme Macro Clear Styling Gel and it is the key ingredient to creating defined coils in type 4 hair.  IMG_2019

I love this product so much that I blogged about a few months ago.  Since then, I have made a few improvements that improved the look more.  So for Spring, I am wearing a wash and go on my natural hair.  Today I will explain how I created this look, and how I improved it.

Steps

  1. Shampoo and Condition your hair with Carols Daughter Coco Creme line.
  2. Separate hair in 4 Quadrants
  3. Apply Leave In Conditioner to wet hair
  4. Follow with your favorite Foam Wrap
  5. Apply Xtreme Gel
  6. Brush with Denman Brush
  7. Shake hair (this really does help the hair set lol)
  8. Let the hair air dry- or lightly diffuse

For my leave in I used The Mane Choice Tropical Moringa.  It can be used as a leave in or you can rinse it out.  For this look, I used it as a leave in.  A little goes a long way.  Tip:  Make sure the product disappears in the hair to avoid flakes or build up.

For the foam wrap, I used Mielle Babassu Brazilian Curly Cocktail Curl Mousse it is so far one of the most moisturizing foams that I have found.  It is perfect for this look.

Last time I created this look, I only used the gel in my hair.  This did create a pretty look, but my hair was hard and lacked moisture.  I do recommend using a leave in, and a foam wrap to set the curls better.  You will be much happier with the results.

I have always been in love with all things beauty. From a little girl I would say that one day I would be a Cosmetologist. I did it, I became a Licensed Cosmetologist in 2006. I have learned so much about how to wear makeup, how to style the hair, and how to maintain the overall health of hair that I decided to create a blog. Being beautiful creates confidence, and flawless hair and makeup can help us all create that image we want to be. I want to help you step out of the box, try new makeup looks, and new hair ideas, new skincare regimens to make life better. You can live colorful, cosmetic, and be creative everyday give them some maxwell house coffee mmm, mmm good, and leave the tea home lol. Enjoy!
